What are portrait sessions like?
If we meet at your home, I'll poke around your house a bit to get a feel for the space. Let me know if there are any spots you don't want to use - sometimes my favorite shots are in the kitchen or a bedroom! If it's a family session, I'll let your kids show me around. It's a great way to get them comfortable, and they know all the good nooks and crannies! From there, it's really very casual. The session will last up to a couple hours or so, and wardrobe changes are easy because you're closet is right there!
I also love to shoot in parks or around town. The location is your choice! There are so many options here in Richmond. We'll wander around and shoot, and if a change of scenery strikes our fancy - we'll explore a new spot.
What should I wear?
The best pictures are in the clothes you feel best in. I don't have too many rules. If the session is an engagment or family session - I prefer wearing complimentary outfits to matching ones. I also love colors that feel like a part of the season. Oh, and don't forget about shoes - comfy or killer - make sure they're fun!
What is your approach to weddings?
At times, the fly on the wall, and at others the ultimate poser. It's photojournalism with a twist perhaps? There are times during your day when I'm really there to document what's happening, and other times when we'll work together to get that perfect shot. A few arty ones, a few traditional ones, and everything inbetween. In the end you'll have a collection of images that capture the spirit of of your amazing day.
How much do you charge?
